| Jasper "Quincy" (he hated the name Jasper1) was born Feb. 4, 1890 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Dr. Asa Lee Davison and Mary Olive Raymond. There is a family story of Quincy, when he was very young, pulling a pan of hot water over his head in 1895. This was said to account for his fiery temper.1 Quincy served as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy during World War I. He served aboard a submarine tender in the Atlantic. Was in Los Angeles, California in March of 1920 working as a chauffer. After the war, Quincy ran a Chrysler automobile dealership in Montana with his brother Edwin. Sadly, "Davison Motors" did not survive the Great Depression. Quincy married three times: to Queenie Pinckley, to May Shaw and to Norma Root. Only with Norma did he have children, sons Edward Harold and Howard Calvin. Quincy was a builder and general contractor and as of 1996 some of his buildings still stand in Portland's Gateway district. Quincy died at home on the morning of Oct. 31, 1963 in Portland.1 He had suffered from heart problems for some time, and died of heart failure. He was buried at the Williamette National Cemetery in Portland on Nov. 4, 1963. His grave number is F3666. | ||||||||||||||||||

| Norma was born in Great Falls, Cascade county, Montana on June 16, 1913 to Joseph Calvin Root and Elizabeth Agnes Thomson. Norma grew up on a farm near Denton, Montana. She attended a small school house that had old wooden seats, a cloak room, a place for lunch buckets, and a bucket of water. During the winter, students and teacher would get to school by bobsledding or on horses. The teachers, who were unmarried women, boarded with the families of the students. Norma's family boarded a teacher, too. The school itself held 15 students at most in grades 1 through 8. They did reading in the morning and worked one-on-one with the teacher with various seat work , coloring, practicing, individual instruction filling in the rest of the time. Norma didn't need help with the homework; her mother had been a teacher in North Dakota, and Norma could read before she started school. The area around She married Jasper "Quincy" Davison on October 1, 1937 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had two sons, Edward Harold and Howard Calvin. After Quincy's death in 1964, she married Curtis Larson in the early 1970s. The marriage was short-lived, and they divorced two months later. She was an elementary school teacher at Wilkes Elementary in Portland, Oregon. | ||||||||||||||||||
