Mrs. Hartwell, who was born in Kansas City, MO, lived in Riverside more than 80 years. She most recently lived in Corona one year. She was a teacher for 21 years. She taught at Riverside Poly High School and University Junior High. Most recently she was a poultry rancher in Riverside for 30 years until she retired in 1975. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Riverside. She graduated from Pomona College in 1924. She is survived by a neice, Patricia Jameson of Corona; two nephews, Gordon House of Murrieta and Bill House of Santa Rosa; and a sister-in-law, Elsie of Santa Ana.
